On the uninhabited Barren Island, about 135 kilometres from Port Blair, is where you will find Asia’s only known active volcano. Barren Volcano first erupted in 1787 and then in 2010—an eruption that lasted six months. It’s known to spew lava in smaller eruptions since then.
You arrive at the coveted destination Andaman. Port Blair is your landing point, the only city with international airport in the midst of oceans and bears the responsibility of all the arrival and departure into and out of the archipelago by air. You are received at the airport by the Travlya. You are dropped at the hotel of your choice. After a brief relaxation, lunch and freshening up, you proceed on to Viper Island. It is located in South Andamans and is named after the ship H.M.S. Viper in which Lt. Archibald Blair arrived at Andamans way back in the year 1789. It is believed that the ship met with an accident and its wreckage was found along the coast. This island was used by the British to imprison political prisoners of the freedom struggle era. The ruins of the horrifying gallows are still to be seen. Return to Neil Island for overnight stay.
After breakfast at the Port Blair Hotel, catch the high-speed catamaran to Neil Island. Rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, explore the property. Reach the nearest beach to have a taste of the secluded beaches of Neil Island. Visit the Laxmanpur Beach for the most gorgeous sunset in the beaches. Return to the hotel for a peaceful overnight stay in the calm and quiet Neil Island.
Neil Island is a laid-back beauty-fazed island. The gorgeous beaches are nature’s blessing. Start the day after a relaxing breakfast with a visit to the natural rock formation at the Bharatpur Beach. Move to Sitapur Beach and enjoy the serenity. (If you are an early riser, you can even visit Sitapur Beach at dawn for an enthralling sunrise, which it is famous for.) If you haven’t covered Laxmanpur Beach the previous day, you can visit this today too. Otherwise, you can go for a snorkelling session at Beach no. 8 and also visit Ramnagar Beach for a glass-bottom boat ride to have a peep at the gorgeous corals underwater. Time comes to leave the Island paradise to sail off to another equally beautiful Island, Havelock. Catch the ferry to Havelock Island. Overnight stay will be in the exotic surroundings of another beach paradise, Havelock Island.
After breakfast at the hotel, move onwards to the Elephant Beach, also known for all kinds of exciting water adventure activities. Today morning after breakfast proceed towards the most gorgeous beach of Havelock, the Radhanagar Beach, also known as Beach No. 7. It has been termed as the best beach in Asia by Times in 2004. Spend a leisurely time taking in the exquisite beauty of the beach. Go for a swim or a refreshing dip in the salty blue waters. Radhanagar beach, early in the morning, at times becomes a coveted site for Turtle nesting and hatching viewing phenomenon. Later on proceed towards Havelock Jetty to board the high-speed catamaran to reach Port Blair. Night stay will be at Port Blair. You can enjoy the sunset view while on the seas during the transit between Havelock and Port Blair.
